Post release of the IV International exhibition of boats and yachts Moscow Boat Show

Moscow Boat Show one of the most significant events for yachting business professionals and active leisure fans was held February 22 through 27, 2011 in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre.

The project is the result of joint efforts of the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and the National Marine Industry Association. The organizers have prepared an exposition impressing by design, decoration and unique exhibits.

The best companies professionally involved into yachting and small navigation business – 180 exhibitors fr om 16 regions of the Russian Federation and 12 countries traditionally presented the best and the newest in the world of yachting: vessels, water sports, equipment, services, specialized mass media and many other things

In 2011 the overall exhibit space comprised 18 000 sq m.

The official Opening Ceremony of the show was held on the first day of the event. Arcady Zlotnikov, First Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC, was the first to take the floor at the ceremony. He greeted warmly exhibitors, guests and visitors of Moscow Boat Show.

Participants of the opening ceremony:

  • Georguiy Shaiduko, Acting President of the Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS), Olympic champion in Atlanta;
  • Alexander Markarov, President of the National Marine Industry Association (NAMI);
  • Ekaterina Grishechkina, Director of exhibition Moscow Boat Show.

All speakers mentioned with pleasure the growing interest of Russians to sailing sport which gradually gains the status of a serious passion requiring professional level of training.

As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years Moscow Boat Show has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events serve to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allow all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential

Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS) and Sailing Academy held a number of training seminars within the frames of the exhibition Moscow Boat Show 2011. Attendees had an opportunity to get practical rigging skills and sail trim, learn to make bends and hitches, attend lectures on meteorology and learn wind and speed control skills.

A long-awaited meeting of Russian national team on match races with racers of Micro class and yachtsmen of Moscow took place February 26, 2011. The meeting was attended by the well-known yachtsmen: Ekaterina Skudina, Andrey Arbuzov, Evgenie Nikiforov, Maxim Taranov and Vyacheslav Frolov. The guests told about their impressions of championships, shared their sports plans for future.

VFPS presidium meeting chaired by Dmitry Zelenin, Governor of the Tver region and Chairman of Supervisory Board of the Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS) took place February 26. Representatives of yachting communities from all regions of the Russian Federation from Vladivostok and up to Kaliningrad will be among attendees of the event!

Many of the exhibits displayed at the Moscow Boat Show produced unforgettable impression on the guests of the trade fair.

«I was strongly impressed by Burevestnik stand – a genuine magnificence of water element! And Sanseeker Manhattan 52 and Fairline Sguadron 55 17-meter yachts – it is an incredible combination of engineering facilitation and stylish design; one can live in such yachts!»: commented Artem Lanskoy, a visitor of the show.

It should be added to said above that Azimut Yachts Russia presented at the show the biggest yacht – Azimut 58 (length – 17, 9 m, width – 4, 94 m) boasting unbelievable technical specification.

«I have been an avid sail sports fan for many years and that’s why the show is a long awaited and informative event for me. It’s the only place wh ere one can discover new opportunities offered by yachting segment and even touch “the beauty”»: commented about the show Leonid Pashkin, a visitor.

Moscow Boat Show was not only an entertaining but at the same time a business promotion event. Participation in the trade fair was a unique opportunity to present a company and products to a distinctly selected targeted audience of industry specialists. They were well prepared to discuss business in the Russian market and even to close a deal on-site

Moscow Boat Show helps representatives of yachting business to get acquainted with their Russian colleagues and gradually improves national yachting market to a new level. It is obvious that for 4 years of its running the project has turned to a status event of the international exhibitions calendar.

The trade fair is estimated to make 30 000 sq m of exhibit space in 2012!
