Ministry for Emergency Situations (MChS): Vessels with a full weight of up to 200 kg and an engine capacity up to 8 kW should be removed from the registration in the State Inspection on Small Size Vessels

Starting from January 1, 2020 each owner of a small size vessel registered in the GIMS of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia will pay transport tax. However, owners of boats and motor boats with a full weight of up to 200 kilograms and an engine capacity of up to 8 kW will not pay tax if their small vessel is removed from registration.


Owners of vessels with a weight of less than 200 kg and an engine capacity of up to 8 kW (reference: 10.88 hp) should to submit an application to the Ministry of Emergency Situations to exclude the small vessel from the register in order to be exempt from tax.
